Summary

Every standard published by exact.works is free to use, adapt, and
build on for any purpose, including commercial use, under Creative
Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).

The only requirement is attribution: when you use or adapt an
exact.works standard, credit it as shown below.

What the License Covers

The text of each published standard. You can:

— Copy and redistribute the text in any medium or format
— Translate it
— Adapt it for your vertical or use case
— Build commercial products on top of it
— Include it in your own publications with attribution

What the License Does Not Cover

The license covers the text of the standards, not the software that
compiles and seals them. The following are proprietary to exact.works,
Inc. and are not licensed by use of any standard:

Exacting — the compiler that presents a standard form, applies the parties' changes, and seals the result
The seal — the canonical hashing and signing implementation
Anchoring — the RFC 3161 timestamping pipeline, which sees the digest and never the content
Verification — the public verification pages and the code behind them

These are separate software components, and so is anything else on
exact.works that this page does not name. Rights to use them are granted
only through exact.works itself, under the Terms of Service at
exact.works/trust/terms.

What Adopting a Standard Does Not Do

Using a standard published here creates no relationship with
exact.works, Inc. and imposes no obligation on it.

exact.works is a drafting and formation tool. It is not a party to any
agreement written on its forms, it holds no funds under one, and it
enforces nothing. An agreement you make on the SAISA is between you and
your counterparty, and the rights and remedies in it run between the two
of you.

Trademarks

The following are trademarks of exact.works, Inc.:

You may reference these marks to describe your use of the standards
(for example, "implements SAISA 1.0" or "SAISA-compliant agent"), but

If you create a derivative or adapted version of a standard, please
name it distinctively. Recommended patterns:

— "SAISA-derived: <Your Name>"
— "<Your Name>, based on SAISA 1.0"
— A new name that does not suggest affiliation with exact.works
